2025 Mahindra XUV 700 : 2025 has been an eventful year and the Mahindra XUV700 is still making headlines! The SUV has been a hit since its first day, lauded for its aggressive pricing, flashy design and futuristic tech.
Though a few new rivals have launched recently, XUV700 has stayed formidable owing to regular product updates and very strong brand recall as well.
Here we take an in-depth look at what does the 2025 model offer, and does it still maintain its crown in India’s mid-size SUV space.
2025 Mahindra XUV 700 Design and Configuration: All Too Familiar (That’s a Good Thing)
Though not a bad thing, the exterior design of the XUV700 has seen no drastic overhaul. Its large C-shaped LED DRLs, muscular bonnet and flush-fitting door handles still make it feel premium and futuristic. Some people will clamor for a facelift, but the overall design is still fresh on the road.
New dual-tone colour schemes and blacked-out alloy wheels on higher variants have been introduced in 2025 to attract a younger audience. These will look more useful for the base models, while the higher trims will seem much bolder premium.
Interior and Features: Packed with Tech
Climb into the 2025 XUV700 and you’re met with a tech-forward cabin. The dual 10.25-inch screens are the focal point of the dashboard, which display the digital instrument cluster as one with the infotainment system. The feel of luxury is furthered through soft-touch materials, a panoramic sunroof, leatherette upholstery and ambient lighting.
Higher trims add the following new amenities for 2025:
Ventilated front seats
Memory function of the seat for driver
Wireless Apple CarPlay and (finally) Android Auto that doesn’t crash
Software has been updated in the ADAS for smoother operation
The cabin is roomy, particularly in the front two rows. The third row is still best suited for kids, though, or short trips, once you have popped the second-row seats forward for easier access back there.
Performance: Smooth and Capable
The XUV700 can be had with petrol and diesel powertrains. The 2.0L turbo-petrol delivers 200 PS while the 2.2L diesel is good for up to 185 PS in higher models.
The two engines come equipped with a 6-speed manual and an automatic gearbox. Top-of-the-line diesel variants also get an option of 4WD.
The power delivery is linear and the SUV is stable even at highway velocity. The petrol engine is smoother in city traffic while the diesel has superior torque for long-distance cruising. Suspension tuning is a laudable compromise between ride and handling.
Mileage is pretty good as well with the petrol providing something around 11–13 km/l and the diesel managing around 15–17 km/l depending on the conditions.
Ride and Handling: When the Balance Is Right
The XUV700, despite its size feels in control on most roads. The suspension soaks up bumps pretty well, and the steering is light enough for city maneuvering. At higher speeds, it’ll weigh up enough to make the driver feel they have some say in what’s happening.
Road noise is kept to a minimum, while the cabin insulation–soundproofing -accentuates the upscale feeling. Hosting is hit or miss in the third row on rough roads, though, as the ride can be a bit lurchy.
Safety Feature-Packed Confidence With all the bells and whistles.
One of the best things about the XUV700 is safety. Base model, too, gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and all four disc brakes. The top variants include:
Six airbags
ADAS Level 2 suite (adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, emergency brake assist)
360-degree camera
ESC – Electronic Stability Control
ISOFIX child seat mounts
The above characteristics help make it one of the safest SUVs in its class.
Pros and Cons

(Level 2 ADAS) — Level 2 ADAS with certain or all functions preemptive safety technologies

2025 Mahindra XUV 700 Final Verdict
Also, the 2025 Mahindra XUV700 continues to be one of the best options in the mid-sized spectrum. Although it hasn’t been given a complete facelift, the added features, strong performance and tech-centric offering help to result in a pretty complete package for a family SUV.
If you want one that provides a nice mix of power, comfort, safety and presence, and doesn’t break the bank, then the XUV700 should still be at the top of your list.
